What is offered for Student Activities?

Students participate in the schools fundraising activities. Some examples are Locks of Love, Susan G Komen Breast Cancer foundation, the walk to prevent Child Abuse, and David's House. Students are encouraged to travel to beauty shows and advanced educational events where student tickets are available at reduced cost. The school offers opportunities to participate in in-school and national competition such as the National Junior Star Stylists sponsored by JC Penny Corp. In school contests invite to students to excel in customer service.

What is the Transfer Policy for attending NESHD?

Our school may require a test in processes. In the school’s opinion, the student’s skill level must be equivalent to the skill level expected of a student who has completed an equivalent number of hours at this school and C. in the school’s opinion, the course content is sufficiently similar and the number of hours spent on the topics to transfer are equivalent to or less than the hours assigned to such topics at this school. This school does not accept transfer hours for haircutting training unless the student is transferring from our high school program. The school accepts transfer students who have achieved at least a 74 percent academic and practical average from the prior school. NESHD does not award hours for training in areas where the previous school has awarded a grade of 79% or lower. NESHD will require that the student secure and submit to us a recommendation from the previous school that advises our acceptance of the student.

What is offered for Career and Placement services?

NESHD will assist the student in coordinating her/his job seeking efforts. The school will instruct the student in the proper methods of interviewing, resume preparation and organizing a job search. Securing employment is a cooperative venture between the student, the school and the employer. Employers are encouraged to visit the school to interview prospective students and students are encouraged to begin off campus interviews during their final eight weeks of training. NESHD in no way guarantees employment upon completion of the courses of study. Students and graduates may use the schools job board to locate employers who have contacted the schools office.

What is offered for individuals with disabilities?

At this time, the school does not offer special services to students with disabilities.
